CHILLIWACK – A local theatre group believes a $12,500 grant from the Chilliwack Foundation will enhance future performances through technology upgrades.

The Chilliwack Players Guild says the money will be earmarked for new LED lights, an amplifier for their sound system, and a computer management system for costumes, props, library, and membership information.

“This grant will really assist the Guild in presenting an even better level of theatre to the community, as well as help in the development of new members and youth getting involved in our theatre productions,” Guild President Clint Hames said.

The decades-old company is set to bring a version of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre in late November.
