Mission RCMP seek witnesses after pedestrian hit by car, hospitalized
MISSION — Mounties in Mission say they are looking for any witnesses who may have information about a pedestrian who was struck roughly two weeks ago in Mission on a summer evening.
Mission RCMP say first responders were called to the Cedar Valley Connector, just south of Cedar Street and 7th Avenue, after a pedestrian was struck in a hit and run on Monday, August 19 shortly before 9 p.m. As a result of the collision, the 61-year-old pedestrian suffered head injuries.
Police say the Mission man was walking southbound on the sidewalk along the Cedar Valley Connector when police believe he was struck by a vehicle, or potentially by part of a vehicle such as an extended mirror.
Police say the man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The injured victim is about 6 feet tall, was wearing grey sweat pants and a grey hoodie, and was carrying a brown bag. Anyone who saw the collision, or has other information about this matter is asked to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
