Chilliwack woman planning Greek vacation, mortgage payoff after winning massive PlayNow.com jackpot

CHILLIWACK — Deborah Surette says it’s the best $30 she’s ever spent.

The Chilliwack resident was camping in her fifth wheel camper earlier this month when she took a chance and spent a little time at her kitchen table on an online slot game through PlayNow.com, part of the B.C. Lottery Corporation.

Thanks to a fortuitous bit of luck, Surette will be heading off to Greece after winning $150,180 in the Lock it Link – Night Life slot win on BCLC’s PlayNow.com.

“Best $30 I’ve ever spent,” Surette said of her wager amount. “It’s still kind of surreal. I have to keep looking at the picture of the win to believe it.”

As is often the case with lottery winners and their family members, Surette’s husband was in just as much disbelief over the win.

“He had to put on his glasses to see what I was crying about,” said Surette.

In addition to eliminating Greece from her bucket-list, Surette says she plans to pay off her mortgage with her prize.
