Two women pronounced dead in North Vancouver after falling from an apartment balcony: IHIT

NORTH VANCOUVER — Mounties in North Vancouver are investigating an incident in which two women who fell from an apartment balcony were later pronounced deceased Tuesday morning (Aug. 20).

According to a statement from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, North Vancouver RCMP members were dispatched Tuesday at 4:30 a.m. for reports that two people had fallen off a balcony at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Esplanade Avenue. Officers arrived and located two females suffering from injuries as a result of the fall. First responders, including fire and BC Ambulance Service, immediately began lifesaving measures, but the the two females were later pronounced deceased.

IHIT has been called and will be working in partnership with the North Vancouver RCMP Serious Crime Unit. Police say they are currently in the evidence gathering stage. Further details will be provided by IHIT.
