CHILLIWACK — Just weeks before the opening of training camp, the Chilliwack Chiefs are in the market for an Athletic Therapist. The team announced that Adrian Presnilla has resigned to take a position with the Western Hockey League’s Edmonton Oil Kings.

“As I take the next step in my career, I’m experiencing a mix of excitement for the future and nostalgia for leaving such a distinguished organization,” said Presnilla. “My time here has been truly special, and I am deeply thankful to have been part of this incredible community in Chilliwack.”

The Abbotsford native earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Kinesiology in Exercise Science from the University of the Fraser Valley. He then moved to Calgary to pursue a post-graduate Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy at Mount Royal University. During his time in Alberta, Presnilla worked with athletes and teams at various levels. His dream was always to return to the Fraser Valley and work in junior hockey, and over the last two seasons, that dream became a reality.

“We’re losing a really good young man who works extremely hard and excels at his craft,” said Chiefs Head Coach and General Manager Brian Maloney. “It would be pretty selfish of us if we weren’t trying to promote not only our players but also our staff. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see this young man in the NHL one day soon.”
