HOPE — The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF) and the Auxiliary to the Fraser Canyon Hospital are gearing up for this year’s RUN FOR HOPE – Walk, Run & Have Fun! The event is set for Saturday, October 5 along a scenic 5K route beside the Coquihalla River and through Thacker Park.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or prefer a leisurely stroll, the event will cater to all fitness levels and is dog-friendly. The 5K loop starts and ends at Fraser Canyon Hospital. Registration opens at 9 a.m. and the run kicks off at 10 a.m.

“The route is still absolutely stunning,” said Liz Harris, Executive Director of FVHCF. “It’s perfect for all abilities. We’ve had everyone from competitive runners to leisurely dog walkers join in. It’s a true community event, and the whole family can enjoy it.”

Participants are encouraged to pre-register online at fvhcf.ca/runforhope for just $10. This year’s event features an online pledge system to boost fundraising efforts. “We are happy to have Hope McDonald’s onboard as a sponsor to help increase the impact we have on the community,” said Robert Beischer, Fund Development Coordinator for FVHCF. “Every dollar raised goes towards purchasing much-needed equipment for Fraser Canyon Hospital.”
