BC United fundraises six-figure dollar amounts in 48 hours

VANCOUVER — While its poll numbers have been languishing, BC United says it raised nearly $200,000 in a 48-hour span last week.

According to a Monday morning news release from the party, BC United says the fundraising tally reveals “clear momentum and growing support” for its party from grassroots B.C. residents.

“On the doors and at community events over the last two weeks, it has been clear to our team that British Columbians are looking for a common sense mainstream party to defeat the extreme policies of the NDP – and they see BC United as their only option,” said BC United campaign manager Mark Werner. “Over the last two weeks we have implemented a dramatic reboot in BC United’s entire operation, and it is clear from our fundraising efforts in a 48 hour-span that our plan is working.”

BC United says it has raised $4.4 million over the last 18 months, excluding the current third quarter, positioning the party to challenge and effectively defeat the NDP in ridings across the province.

“When people go to the ballot box this October and ask themselves which party has been standing up for them against radical NDP policies for the last six years, they know it’s BC United and Kevin Falcon,” said Werner. “We are continuing to see the momentum shift in BC United’s direction, and we look forward to taking the fight to David Eby’s NDP in the election.”

In poll after poll, however, BC United has struggled to gain momentum as the BC Conservatives surge behind leader John Rustad. 338Canada.com, a national media firm, shows BC United in third place tied with the BC Greens at 11 per cent.
