Corn barn allegedly robbed in Chilliwack area Friday

CHILLIWACK — Sparkes Corn Barn is alleging one of its locations was robbed on Friday (Jul. 26) afternoon. The Chilliwack company is reaching out to the public to ask for information on three individuals, two men and a woman, who made off with money from a retail barn located in the Bridal Falls area.

On its Facebook page, Sparkes Corn Barn has placed images of the alleged robbers, asking for residents to help locate the three.

Meantime it says the young female employee who was robbed, was working her first summer job. The Facebook post says she’s scared and distraught.

RCMP have been alerted to the situation but have not made any public statements.

Sparkes Corn Barn says the robbery is the first in 24 years of selling corn at their unmistakable green and yellow huts.

As of Monday afternoon, July 29, media spokespersons for the Chilliwack, Agassiz and Hope RCMP detachments have not responded to a media inquiry from Fraser Valley Today seeking more information on the incident.
