**Update at 1:57 p.m. Thursday: BC Wildfire Service now reports that the fire east of Harrison Lake has grown from a single hectare to 1.7 hectares, as of 1:57 p.m.**

HARRISON LAKE — BC Wildfire Service says a human-caused fire has erupted east of Harrison Lake and grown into one hectare in size.

According to details on the BC Wildfire Service dashboard (website), the fire is two kilometres north of Slollicum Creek. It was first discovered Wednesday morning, July 10 at 9:43 a.m. BCWS last updated its website with details about the fire 8:29 a.m. Thursday morning.

The suspected cause is human activity.

As of Thursday morning at 8:29 a.m., BCWS has enlisted the services of two initial attack crew, one helicopter, and one piece of heavy equipment responding to this wildfire, along with the support of two wildfire officers.
