Motorcyclist critically injured in Abbotsford collision

ABBOTSFORD — A motorcyclist was critically injured in a collision involving an SUV at the intersection of McCallum Road and McDougall Avenue Friday (Jul. 5) evening in Abbotsford.

Abbotsford police responded to the scene at approximately 7:48 p.m. They found a 60-year-old male motorcyclist in critical condition with severe injuries. The motorcyclist received immediate medical attention and was transported to the hospital.

The driver and occupants of the SUV sustained minor injuries. They remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

The RCMP’s Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services (ICARS) were called to assist in the investigation. The roadway has since been re-opened to the public.

Members of the AbbyPD General Investigation Section are investigating the factors leading to the crash. Initial indications suggest that impairment was not a factor.

Authorities are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of the incident. Individuals are urged to contact AbbyPD at (604) 859-5225.
