Construction underway on downtown Chilliwack breezeway project, Yale Road beautification
CHILLIWACK — The City of Chilliwack says construction has begun on a downtown breezeway project that will connect Yale Road in downtown Chilliwack to the Victoria Avenue parking lot just north of the Paramount Building.
On its website, the city says Marex Constructors initiated construction at the end of May and is expected to finish by the end of the summer.
“The breezeway may need to be closed at times to facilitate a safe work area,” the city wrote on its website. “The City thanks everyone for their patience while this work is completed.”
The project entails 370 square metres of public plaza construction featuring stamped concrete, drainage, ornamental lighting, landscaping, chess tables, an archway, street trees, concrete planters, bike storage lockers and bike racks, benches, a food truck pad and complementary arbors and trellises.
