Update: Highway 1 w/b reopens Wednesday morning after serious crash

**Update at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday: Highway 1 westbound at Clearbrook Road in Abbotsford has reopened after a serious car crash. Abbotsford Police Department spokesperson Constable Art Stele said AbbyPD patrol officers responded to a reported three-vehicle collision on Hwy. 1 westbound, west of Clearbrook Road, at 9:24 p.m. Tuesday night. As a result of the collision, three persons were transported to hospital. Two persons appear to have suffered minor injuries, while a third individual is being treated for serious injuries. The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) was dispatched to assist with the investigation.**

ABBOTSFORD — Without citing a reason, DriveBC says Highway 1 westbound has been closed west of the Clearbrook Road intersection (exit 87) in Abbotsford Tuesday night.

According to a post on X/Twitter from Drive BC at 9:49 p.m., Highway 1 is closed west of Clearbrook Road. There’s no detour information available.

Motorists heading through the area should expect major delays and consider using an alternate route.

There has been no information about Hwy. 1 being shut down on either the Facebook or Twitter page of the Abbotsford Police Department Tuesday night.

However, at 12:13 a.m. Wednesday, AbbyPD issued a news release saying a 3-car crash had closed westbound Highway 1.
