Agassiz RCMP says a man has died after ATV crash sent him down an embankment on Harrison East FSR
AGASSIZ — The Agassiz RCMP detachment says it is investigating a fatal collision on Harrison East Forest Service Road last week.
According to a statement from Sgt. Andy Lot, detachment commander for the Agassiz RCMP, Mounties in Agassiz were dispatched on Tuesday, June 4 at approximately 10:40 p.m. for the report of an ATV collision at the 4-kilometer mark of Harrison East Forest Service Road in Agassiz. Police officers attended the scene and located two men down an embankment with significant injuries.
According to Sgt. Lot, combined efforts of Agassiz RCMP, B.C. Emergency Health Services, Kent Harrison Search and Rescue, and Agassiz Fire Department were crucial in navigating the steep terrain to access the collision site. One male in his mid-30s was declared deceased at the scene, and the other male in his late 20s was transported to hospital.
Sgt. Lot told Fraser Valley Today over the phone last week that the man in hospital is expected to survive.
