Body of missing rower located: Abbotsford PD

ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department has confirmed that a 65-year-old male rower who went missing earlier this week has been located deceased.
According to a statement from Abbotsford PD spokesperson Art Stele Sunday morning (June 9), AbbyPD investigators, along with the assistance of Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue personnel, saw the deployment of the RCMP’s dive team into the Sumas River on Saturday, June 8 where the missing rower was last reported to have been seen.
As a result of the dive team’s search, a deceased person was located tragically and confirmed to be the missing person. Investigators asked the B.C. Coroners Service to attend and at this point in time, no foul play is suspected to have occurred surrounding the rower’s unfortunate death, Cst. Stele said.
Out of courtesy to the deceased’s grieving family, police will not be providing further details, Cst. Stele said.
