Update: Power restored for 4,800+ BC Hydro customers who lost power in Agassiz, Harrison and Seabird Island area Tuesday

Update: Power has been restored to thousands of customers in Agassiz, Harrison, Seabird Island and Harrison Mills who lost power Tuesday just after lunch.

AGASSIZ-HARRISON — Over 4,000 BC Hydro customers in Agassiz, Harrison Hot Springs, Seabird Island and Harrison Mills are without power Tuesday afternoon.

According to its website, BC Hydro says 1,661 customers in Agassiz west of Johnson Road, east of Limbert Road and north of Bridge Road are without power due to a transmission circuit failure. Power went out at 12:47 p.m. Crews have been assigned yet. There’s no estimate as to when power might be restored.

North of Agassiz in Harrison Hot Springs, even more customers lost power. Exactly 1,702 customers lost power in an area described as being north of Else Road. Their power went out at 12:47 p.m., and hydro crews have been assigned yet.

Over in Seabird Island, 984 customers lost power at 12:47 p.m. Hydro crews have been assigned yet.

Approximately 513 customers in Harrison Mills, west of Agassiz, lost power. The cause is attributed to transmission circuit failure.

Altogether, 4,860 customers are without power north of the Fraser River.

Over in Hope, over 1,700 customers are without power due to the same issue: transmission circuit failure.
