**Update at 6 p.m.: Power has been restored to thousands of Hope-area BC Hydro customers who lost power at about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.**

HOPE — A transmission circuit failure has left thousands of BC Hydro customers in Hope and the surrounding area without power Tuesday afternoon (June 4).

According to the BC Hydro website, 1,780 customers in Silver Creek, Chawathil First Nation, Ruby Creek, and most, if not all, of downtown Hope have no power.

A crew has been assigned. The last update was at 1:02 p.m. Tuesday.
