MISSION — Mission Fire Rescue Service (MFRS) says it has welcomed 10 new probationary firefighters to its ranks spread among three fire stations in the city.

According to a social media post, the fire department in Mission reports that its newest group of recruits is now officially probationary recruits as of Sunday, June 2.

Its probationary firefighters received pagers a few weeks ago and are now able to respond to all incidents and regular training.

“MFRS is proud of the dedication, sacrifice and hard work displayed by all our new members; they have been training almost every weekend since late 2023, along with volunteer events, and written exams,” the department wrote.

To protect their privacy, Mission Fire Rescue Service did not include their first names, only their last names.

The newest crew members at Station 1, located at 33330 7th Avenue, are Firefighters Nazaroff, O’Brien, Keats, and Lubberts.
