IHIT investigates suspicious death of a 50-year-old woman in Chilliwack
CHILLIWACK — The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been deployed to Chilliwack following a suspicious death reported Sunday (Jun. 2).
Chilliwack RCMP officers responded to a call of a sudden death in the 45300-block of Chehalis Drive. Upon arrival, police, alongside the BC Coroners Service, discovered a 50-year-old woman deceased inside a residence. Observations made at the scene suggested the death was suspicious, prompting a call to IHIT to take over the investigation.
IHIT stated that their investigators are working closely with the Chilliwack RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section, and the BC Coroners Service to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
“We’re asking anyone who has information or who had recent contact with the victim to contact IHIT immediately,” said Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT.
