CULTUS LAKE — Cultus Lake Park is looking to identify the people responsible for damaging a newly planted tree on the lake foreshore.

They’re even offering a $1,000 reward in hopes of locating the vandal(s).

According to a social media post from Cultus Lake Park Chief Administrative Officer Joe Lamb dated Friday, May 24, Cultus Lake Park is seeking community assistance to gather details stemming from the recent vandalism of a newly planted tree near 150 First Avenue.

The park did not issue a news release to nearby news media, instead resorting to a social media post.

Individuals with relevant information are asked to contact the Cultus Lake Park Board at 604-858-3334 or Cultus Lake bylaw/security personnel at 604-858-5298.

The $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the identification of the people responsible for damaging park property.

The park says it will seek further support from the Upper Fraser Valley RCMP detachment.

Two images shared by Cultus Lake Park depict deep incisions into a newly planted tree on the left, and branches that appear to be trimmed and freshly cut from another tree near the shore.
