Agassiz RCMP confirm man was stabbed multiple times Wednesday night in Seabird Island

AGASSIZ — Upper Fraser Valley RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Mike Sargent has confirmed that police and paramedics were dispatched for a stabbing that happened Wednesday night (May 22) in Seabird Island.

According to a statement from Sgt. Sargent, Agassiz RCMP and B.C. Ambulance Services responded to a stabbing in the 8400 block of Sthitsem Road in Agassiz. Police say a man was located at the scene suffering from multiple stab wounds and was transported to hospital.

The injuries are not life-threatening and the victim has been discharged from the hospital.

The suspect remains at large, police say, but early indications are that this was an isolated incident and there are no ongoing safety risks to the community.
