CHILLIWACK — So they didn’t hit their exact target of opening in May 2024 as had been projected earlier this year.

Nevertheless, Chilliwack’s newest smoothie shop is poised to open in just a matter of weeks.

According to a informal sign posted outside its Garrison Village location, Heal, a boutique shop offering acai (pronounced aa-saa-ee) bowls and smoothies, will open in the first week of June in the former Olive Junction retail store site of Garrison Village, located at 45575 Keith Wilson Road near the intersection with Vedder Road.

“Now Hiring! We will be opening in the first week of June,” the sign on its main entrance stated. “Please forward resumes to healbcjobs@gmail.com.”

The store’s official branding sign has been mounted outside its store in Garrison Village, promoting acai bowls, smoothies and “wellness.”

According to its website, Heal Wellness features six types of smoothie bowls at a price point of $14, including one particular acai bowl containing acai berries, strawberry, banana, agave and oat milk. Toppings include fresh granola, strawberry, blueberry, banana, coconut, vegan chocolate flakes and hemp seed.

If something cheaper appeals to your wallet, Heal Wellness offers three smoothies for $8, including a “Wake & Shake” smoothie containing espresso, pea protein, cocoa, banana, peanut butter, agave and oat milk.

For $9, they’ve got blue magic (blue spirulina, banana, pineapple, peach, agave and oat milk), orange glow (a mix of carrot juice, pineapple, ginger, lemon juice and turmeric), and green matcha (matcha, spinach, mango, pineapple, orange juice, banana and oat milk) smoothies.

On its website, Heal Wellness describes itself an acai bowl and smoothie shop dedicated to providing all natural superfoods that are not only nutritious, but also delicious. It currently has six locations in Ontario.

“All of our smoothie bowls are made with real fruit including nutrient rich superfoods like acai, pitaya, goji berries, spirulina, chia seeds, and hemp hearts,” Heal Wellness wrote on its website. “Each bowl is handcrafted in front of you with a variety of add-ons, including nut butters and protein powder. Our smoothie bowls are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a snack, and can be enjoyed on-the-go or at home. We strive to make healthy eating both simple and accessible.”

The company was founded by buddies Jay and Jesse, who opened their first health-focused acai bowl shop in Hamilton, Ontario in 2019. The two friends started the business with the goal of creating an accessible way for people to enjoy nutritious, great tasting smoothie bowls and smoothies.

“Their mission has always been to provide natural superfoods that help people fuel their bodies with the nutrients they need to thrive, stay healthy, and be energized,” Heal Wellness wrote on its website.
