City of Mission, RCMP seek input from residents on how to align RCMP priorities with community needs

MISSION — To better guide its future policing strategies and better understand public safety concerns in the rapidly growing community of over 42,000 people, the City of Mission and Mission RCMP are soliciting feedback from residents through an online survey.

The goal of the survey is to receive input from residents on how police should develop public safety policies that best provide effective policing solutions.

“The goal of the survey is to better understand local concerns related to policing and public safety in Mission and use this insight to better align Mission RCMP’s strategic focus areas with the needs of the community,” the City of Mission wrote on its website. “Mission RCMP uses a number of policing strategies, however, it is critical to adapt these strategies to population growth and changing needs. Input shared in this process will help assess current policing strategies and develop courses of action by both the City and RCMP.”

The survey will be available until the end of this month.
