CHILLIWACK — The local builders behind the Chilliwack developments of Malloway Village, Skynest, Englewood Courtyard and Englewood Village have partnered with Tzeachten (Ch’íyáqtel) First Nation in Chilliwack to build a 96-unit luxury condo development at Promontory Road and Thomas Road in Chilliwack.

In a news release Wednesday, Andmar Properties says its sales office will officially open this Friday, May 10 to coincide with sales of phase 1 of the project, which will feature contemporary living in a development driven by sustainability, innovation and connectivity in the heart of Sardis.

The company says its meticulously-designed luxury condos will start in the high $200K range. Prospective buyers can take advantage of time-sensitive incentives like reduced deposits of 5%, mortgage helpers that cap interest rates at 4% for one year, preferred mortgage rates and no monthly strata costs for two years.

Andmar touts its energy-based building standards as being a cornerstone of its studio, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom condos that are in close proximity to unique local businesses along pedestrian-friendly Promontory Road.

“When designing the Andmar community, we understood the profound responsibility of shaping the future of one of Sardis’ most cherished properties,” says Tracey Klaver, sales director and vice-president of operations. “With our partners, the Tzeachten First Nation, our goal was to craft a vibrant community that not only pays homage to the land and its legacy, but also sets a precedent for sustainable development. Andmar stands as a testament to our dedication to building for future generations, providing homes and commercial spaces that not only minimize environmental impact but also elevate the quality of life for residents.”

Andmar will eventually occupy 10 acres, consisting of 11 distinct mixed-use buildings, each built with extensive sustainable and ethical measures. In order to achieve this, Andmar says multiple considerations were integrated into the design process, like positioning the buildings to maximize sunlight exposure, installing enlarged windows and automatic blinds, using PTAC heating and cooling systems, and sourcing of local materials. To enhance biodiversity and support oxygen levels, Indigenous trees and fauna will be carefully planted throughout the community, accentuated by rain tanks onsite to sustain water supplies for plant containers and greenery.

In order to maximize the sustainability efforts for Andmar, developer Mark Perry enrolled in a “Sustainability Leadership” course from Cambridge University in England.

“In creating a community that prioritized social and environmental impact, we needed to make informed decisions,” says Mark Perry, developer of Andmar Properties. “This process was really about finding ways to situate Andmar into the environment instead of taking over it.”

With a completion date of July 2026, Andmar intends to leverage the development’s location as a dynamic hub for living, working and dining. Residents will find sustainably focused stores and local businesses such as Nature’s Fare Organic Market right outside their doorstep. As Andmar progresses in phases, there will be purpose-driven community spaces for yoga, live music, artist exhibits, a dog park and a community center to enable residents to relish their surroundings.

Andmar will be anchored by a Pattison-operated grocery and pharmacy. Phase one of Andmar features approximately 65,000 square feet of commercial retail space and 204 residential units.
