Knight Road Legacy Association to distribute record $925K to Chilliwack charities

CHILLIWACK — The Knight Road Legacy Association (KRLA) will be distributing a record $925,495 to charitable organizations in the Chilliwack region following the annual collection of funds from Elements Casino Chilliwack.

The funding arrangement was established as part of a 20-year revenue-sharing agreement signed in 2012. KRLA, formerly known as Chilliwack Bingo Association, continues to benefit from slot machine revenue at Elements Casino Chilliwack for another nine years.

Since the inception of this agreement, Great Canadian Entertainment’s gaming facility has disbursed over $5.2 million to KRLA, enabling the association to support numerous charitable and not-for-profit organizations in the area.

The funds will be distributed to 47 organizations within the Chilliwack region, in support of community programs and services.

“Our members look forward to receiving their share so they can continue supporting our great community of Chilliwack,” said Jerry Wernicke, President of KRLA.

Michael Worth, the Regional Vice President of Operations at Great Canadian Entertainment announced the funding this week. “This payment underscores our ability to provide an exceptional guest experience to everyone who walks in our doors and, by effect, provide significant funding that goes a long way in supporting the important work of local charities and not-for-profit organizations,” said Worth.
