BC Hydro customers set to receive electricity affordability credit
Apr 1, 2024 | 1:28 PM
VANCOUVER — The province says BC Hydro’s residential customers will begin seeing an affordability credit applied to their bills this month.
The B.C. Ministry of Energy said in a statement that the provincial electricity affordability credit will provide an average customer $100 in annual savings.
The credits are automatically calculated and applied to each monthly bill, with the first arriving on bills after April 15.
The province says the credit is calculated based on a customer’s annual electricity consumption prior to March 31.
