Missing man sought by Chilliwack RCMP was reportedly heading to a friend’s home in Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK — A 40-year-old man who was the subject of a missing persons bulletin by the Chilliwack RCMP Monday was reportedly on his way to a friend’s house in Chilliwack in February.

According to a news release from Corporal Carmen Kiener of the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment in Chilliwack dated Monday, March 11, police say Kent Mantler was reported missing on Friday, March 8. He was last seen in February driving a grey 2005 Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV.

Police provided the following description of Kent Mantler:

• Caucasian male
• 40 years
• 6 ft. 3 in.
• 230 lbs.
• brown hair
• blue eyes

Additional information about Mantler has been revealed online by a woman named Corrina Joyce, who made a social media post on Facebook Saturday, March 10 stating that her brother, Kent Mantler, was on his way to a friend’s place in Chilliwack. Joyce said there was a credit card charge belonging to Mantler at a Shell gas station in Abbotsford on February 19.

Image: Chilliwack RCMP / Chilliwack RCMP have appealed to the public in hopes of finding 40-year-old Kent Mantler.

While alluding to mental health struggles that her brother has had, Joyce wrote on Facebook that her brother’s vehicle has also not been spotted. She said Mantler was driving a 2005 silver Suzuki Grand Vitara, B.C. license plate TM6 10N.

“Hospitals and Police (Chilliwack & Vancouver) have been notified,” Joyce said in her Facebook post. “If you have any tips, please contact the Chilliwack or Vancouver Police.”

The Chilliwack RCMP file number is reportedly 2024-8987. The Vancouver PD file number is reportedly VA24-38755.

Fraser Valley Today has reached out to Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Kiener to clarify where Mantler was last seen and whether his credit card was used at a gas station in Abbotsford on Feb. 19, as Joyce stated. Chilliwack RCMP did not state in their news release where Mantler was last seen driving, but did provide two pictures of Mantler, a full description of him, and a picture of what a 2005 Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV resembled.
