One killed in Surrey house fire
SURREY — A residential fire claimed the life of one person Saturday (Feb. 24) morning in Surrey. The fire occurred in the 15100 block of 88 Avenue.
A Surrey RCMP news release said officers were called to the fire at 5:20 a.m. and assisted the Surrey Fire Department in evacuating residents from nearby homes.
Despite their efforts, the fire claimed the life of an unidentified woman in the residence. Surrey Fire Department, in coordination with Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit and the Surrey Fire Inspector, conducted a thorough investigation. They determined the fire’s cause was not suspicious.
