G.W. Graham senior Riley Ashley to play football at University of Manitoba

CHILLIWACK — Riley Ashley, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker and defensive end who was a pivotal member of the G.W. Graham Grizzlies defence this past season, has committed to play for the University of Manitoba Bisons.

“Extremely happy to be able to announce my 100% commitment to @MBBisons,” Ashley wrote on his X/Twitter account Thursday, Feb. 15. “Thanks to all my family, coaches, and friends who have helped me get to where I am.”

Ashley had 83 tackles, 10 sacks and 4 interceptions through 11 games in a senior campaign that saw the Grizzlies advance to the postseason. He was named conference Defensive Player of the Year following the 2023 season. He previously represented B.C. at the U18 Canada Cup, and was named AAA Varsity Most Outstanding Lineman in 2022.

One of his highlights during the 2022 season was a 95-yard interception return for a touchdown.
