Prolific offender arrested following a string of break-and-enters in Abbotsford in 2023
ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford police department’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) is reporting an arrest in their investigation into a string of break-and-enters plaguing the community since July 2023. The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Sean Mills, was recently arrested following an extensive investigation which included surveillance activities. He is described as a prolific offender by Abbotsford police.
The CRU launched the investigation in October after a surge in thefts targeting tools, bicycles, and credit/debit cards from parked vehicles. Investigators were able to link the suspects to a series of break-and-enters that had occurred several months before the investigation was turned over to the CRU. The incidents not only caused distress among victims but also had a substantial impact on local families and businesses.
“The AbbyPD’s Crime Reduction Unit is committed to identifying, targeting, and arresting prolific property offenders,” said Crime Reduction Unit Sgt. Cory Johansen. “We are hoping the arrest of this prolific offender can bring some justice and closure to those impacted by his crimes.”
Mills faces a total of 22 charges related to his alleged criminal activities, stretching back to July. The charges include four counts of Break-and-Enter, six counts of Theft Under $5000, one count of Theft of Credit Card, seven counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, one count of Fraudulent Use of Credit Card, one count of Possession of Break-in Instruments, one count of Possession of a Stolen Credit Card, and one count of Possession of Identity Documents.
