UPDATE at 4:28 p.m.: Drive BC says the Sumas Way and Whatcom Road off-ramps have now fully reopened, meaning all off-ramps between Abbotsford and Chilliwack are open again.

UPDATE at 1:25 p.m.: Drive BC says the Lickman Road off-ramps have reopened as of 1:19 p.m.

CHILLIWACK — It’s a bad time to be on Highway 1 amid blowing snow and whiteout conditions Wednesday (Jan. 17).

Drive BC says the Whatcom Road (exit 95) and No. 3 Road (exit 104) off-ramps are closed in both directions.

According to an update from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure on X, Whatcom Road and No. 3 Rd exit ramps are closed in both directions due to adverse driving conditions and spun out vehicles. Ploughs are en route to assist crews as they work to reopen the exit ramps. They posted this information at 11:31 a.m.

Not long after at 12:06 p.m., Drive BC added the Lickman Road off-ramps as being closed in both directions. It has since reopened as of 1:19 p.m.
