CHILLIWACK — BC Transit says transit in Chilliwack has been impacted Wednesday morning (Jan. 17) by what it calls employee shortage/illness, but makes no reference to snowy conditions that have blanketed Chilliwack.

According to a social media post, the provincial transit provider says Chilliwack transit service is currently experiencing service challenges due to employee shortage/illness.

It makes no mention of the 15-plus centimetres of snow Chilliwack received overnight.

BC Transit states the impacts to service have resulted in the need to alter schedules on short notice to reflect changing conditions/cancel the following routes:

• VEDDER #51

0553 – 0658 – 0811 –UFV, 0636 – 0746 Downtown

• PROMONTORY #54

• EVANS #52

0710 – Cottonwood Mall

• INDUSTRIAL #59

• TYSON #58
