ABBOTSFORD — BC Hydro says thousands of customers in Abbotsford are without power Friday evening due to an unknown cause.

According to the latest power outage map, 4,024 customers in Abbotsford lost power at 6:09 p.m. in an area northwest of downtown Abbotsford, including north of Peardonville Road, south of Downes Road, west of Maclure Road and east of Mount Lehman Road.

Crews have not yet been assigned. The cause is under investigation.

Power is out for 616 customers in Eastern Hillsides in Chilliwack, including an area south of Chilliwack Central Road and east of Gibson Road, due to equipment failure. Power there has been off since 11:16 a.m. Friday morning; it’s expected back on by 6 p.m. Friday.
