Pizza franchise with 2 locations in Chilliwack set to open a 3rd in Popkum

CHILLIWACK — A familiar pizza franchise with two locations in Chilliwack will be adding a third location sometime in 2024.

Freshslice Pizza, with existing locations in Garrison Crossing and inside Cottonwood Centre mall, will add a third location in Chilliwack when it opens in suite 105 at 52964 Yale Road East. It will be a part of the Starbucks and Dairy Queen commercial plaza just north of the Petro Canada and Subway.

A sign on the front of the main entrance to suite 105 simply says, “Opening Soon!” but does not specify a timeline. It invites people to partner with Freshslice for franchising opportunities.

There are two Freshslice locations in Abbotsford and three in Langley.

Freshslice Pizza differentiates itself from other pizza franchises by offering individual slices for sale, and offering unique varieties like butter chicken feasts, in a quick service platform where pizza is hot and ready in just a couple minutes rather than having customers wait 15-20 minutes, or sometimes longer, for pizzas to bake.

While Freshslice’s opening date is not officially known for the Rosedale Village shopping centre, neither is the date for the opening of Starbucks and Dairy Queen. Starbucks had been slated to open in the fall, but that didn’t come to fruition.

A spokesperson for Dairy Queen advised Fraser Valley Today in an email in December 2023 that DQ will open at 52964 Yale Road East in spring 2024.

“I connected with the franchise owner of this location and they plan to open the restaurant in spring 2024,” a DQ spokesperson named only as Amie indicated via email. “They likely will begin recruiting employees approximately six weeks prior to their grand opening. Please check back with us in February and we likely can share more at that time.”
