Chilliwack Chiefs beaten by Cowichan Valley
DUNCAN — Brock Cummings’ third-period hat trick capped a wild third period as the Cowichan Valley Capitals topped the Chilliwack Chiefs 5 – 3 Friday (Jan. 5) night.
The third period began with the Chiefs leading 1 – 0. But the two clubs exploded for seven goals and 37 shots over the final 20 minutes.
Ty Campbell, Brady Milburn and Parker Murray scored goals for Chilliwack while netminder Austin McNicholas faced 35 shots. The Chiefs fired 45 shots at the Cowichan Valley net.
Chilliwack will continue its Vancouver Island road trip Saturday night with a visit with the Victoria Grizzlies. (6 p.m.)
