Updated: As of 12:39 p.m. Thursday afternoon (Dec. 14), Drive BC says the northbound and southbound lanes south of Comstock Road are now open. Motorists should still expect delays due to congestion.

COQUIHALLA HIGHWAY — Drive BC says motorists should use alternate highways after a vehicle incident closed the Coquihalla north of Hope and south of Merritt.

According to an update posted by Drive BC at 9:09 a.m. Thursday morning (Dec. 14), Highway 5 is closed due to vehicle incidents south of Comstock Road. Traffic is now stopped northbound at Hope and southbound at Merritt.

Alternate routes are available via Highway 1 (Fraser Canyon), Highway 5A, and Highway 3.
