Updated: Abbotsford Fire responds to reported explosion on Marshall Road
ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service was dispatched to two structure fires Wednesday in the city of Abbotsford, including one in the 34000 block of Kent Avenue that involved a fully engulfed home in flames, and a second incident where an explosion was reported in the 35000 block of Marshall Road.
According to a statement from Melissa Godbout from the City of Abbotsford, Abbotsford firefighters were dispatched at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 29) to Kent Avenue for the report of a structure fire. Crews arrived to find a residential structure fully involved.
The fire was fully extinguished and crews were able to protect neighbouring structures.
There were no injuries and the impacted residents are being supported by Emergency Support Services. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Godbout said.
