Shred-A-Thon returns to Chilliwack Saturday
CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack is gearing up for its annual Shred-A-Thon and Food Drive next Saturday (Dec. 2). The event, slated from 10:30 am to 2 pm, will be held at the Chilliwack Coliseum parking lot, located off Ashwell Road at 45323 Hodgins Avenue.
Residents are encouraged to bring a maximum of 10 boxes per household for shredding. All plastic binding covers, metal hanging folders, or any metal objects—excluding staples and paper clips, should be removed. Those with excess material should either wait for the next Shred-A-Thon or use designated retailer shredding services at the UPS Store on 6014 Vedder Rd, the UPS Store at Southgate Shopping Centre on 45905 Yale Rd, or Staples on 7491 Vedder Road.
The event is not just about shredding documents but also about giving back to the community. Participants are invited to contribute to the Salvation Army Food Bank, either through cash donations or by bringing non-perishable food items. While donations are welcomed and appreciated, they are not mandatory.
