CHILLIWACK — The Gore Brothers development family is set to develop a 1-acre lot in the 5400 block of Peach Road, south of Keith Wilson Road, near River’s Edge.

In a statement Wednesday (Sept. 27) from the Gore Brothers, Tony Gore, one of the three brothers, says the former homestead of the Peach family is now being subdivided.

As part of the development process, Vandell Drive will be completed as it passes directly through the lot. This will connect Peach Road with the Webster’s Landing area. Currently, residents in the River’s Edge and Peach Road corridor need to drive to Keith Wilson Road, go west on the major thoroughfare, and turn left to go south on Lindys Drive or Webster Road, in order to access the Webster’s Landing area and associated roads like McLaren Drive or Chinook Street.

Parking and sidewalks will line this section of Vandell Drive west of Peach Road.

Twenty freehold lots will be created, and building lots will be available for sale. All lots can have legal suites. A limited release of the first phase of building lots will become available in the coming months. Jill Hall, a longtime Chilliwack resident and local realtor with Century 21 Creekside Realty Chilliwack, is the point person who will provide updates on availability.

The Gore Brothers development family consists of Tony, Lee and Mark Gore. They’ve all been longtime Chilliwack residents, fourth-generation Chilliwack residents as a matter of fact, and were instrumental in the redevelopment of Garrison Crossing and the formation of River’s Edge.

Tony supplied a picture of his two kids, Wyatt and Naomi, who are now school-aged, along with his nephew, Jack.

“The Gore Brothers is evolving into the Gore family,” said Tony, who lives in the Peach Road vicinity. “Wyatt says it will be nice to have more people move into the neighbourhood. Naomi is looking forward to riding her bike to parks, while Jack says there will be more houses to trick-or-treat at!”

The Gore Brothers have supported the community through little libraries in Garrison Crossing and River’s Edge, supporting pet initiatives, commissioning a mural in Hope, offering to build owl nesting boxes for free, and providing a home for a mother and son who struggled with hoarding. Together with Jill Hall, they’re also spreading awareness about radon.

“Our most recent community involvement is raising radon awareness,” said Tony. “Radon is a highly carcinogenic radioactive gas found in multiple homes in the Fraser Valley. All our new homes will have full stack radon mitigation systems. We are committed to the health and well-being of our community.”
