ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford’s TRADEX centre is gearing up to host the 2023 Snowbird RV Show & Sale, an annual must-see event for RV enthusiasts. From September 21 to September 24, attendees will be able to explore over 120,000 square feet of displays and information from more than 45 exhibitors. Officials are promising over 200 RVs will be on-site.

According to organizers, what sets the event apart from others are the daily seminars, an absolute favorite among attendees. The seminars cover an array of topics including travel tips, maintenance essentials, and international RVing. They have consistently received rave reviews, say officials.

The 28th version of the Snowbird RV Show will feature representation from across the RV market including BCRV, Fraserway RV, Get-Away RV, O’Connor RV, Traveland RV and Travelhome RV. Organizers hope it provides the perfect opportunity for enthusiasts to explore the full RV landscape in anticipation of planning a getaway to warmer climates.

More than half a million Canadian snowbirds are expected to make their pilgrimage to sunny destinations over the next several months. Many will decide to stay close to home but the vast majority will flock to locations such as Florida, California, and Arizona. Advocates claim travelling by RV allows snowbirds to explore a wider range of locations including hidden gems such as South Carolina, Nevada, and Georgia.

“The RV lifestyle is such a great way to get in touch with nature and explore so many beautiful places,” says Snowbird RV Show and Sale Manager Mandi Brix. “We continue to see higher volumes of snowbirds interested and excited about RV’ing possibilities. The adventure is the journey, and we can’t wait to help our attendees find the best RV for their lifestyle.”

This weekend’s show will welcome special guest Paul Beddows, a renowned expert in RVing to Mexico. Beddows, the founder of Mexico Caravan, has been guiding snowbirds on their Mexican adventures for the past fifteen years. His expertise lies not only in showcasing the beauty of Mexico but also in simplifying the paperwork, permits, and insurance required for a smooth RV journey.

Beddows’ mission is to dispel the fear often associated with traveling to Mexico, and he emphasizes that “anyone can do this” with the right guidance. After retiring, he began snowbirding in the United States but felt a deeper calling to explore Mexico. Falling in love with the culture, he made it his mission to assist fellow RV enthusiasts in crossing the border with confidence.

Mexico Caravan offers trips in January, February, and March, each with varying durations and destinations. Additionally, Beddows is planning a spring caravan to coincide with a rare total solar eclipse in Mazatlán, Mexico, providing an extraordinary experience for those embarking on the journey.

Attendees can attend Beddows’ daily seminars for free with admission into the event.

The show opens Thursday at 10 a.m. and runs through Sunday afternoon at TRADEX in Abbotsford.
