Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre aquatics centre undergoes several upgrades
CHILLIWACK — YMCA BC, the operator of two city-owned rec centres, says it has implemented a number of upgrades to the aquatics centre at the Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre.
The aquatic facility at the Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre, one of two city-owned recreation centres in town, had been closed from Monday, August 21 through Friday, September 8 for what the YMCA BC said would be scheduled maintenance and cleaning.
According to a Facebook post dated Friday, September 8 at 3:35 p.m., YMCA says the aquatics centre received a number of upgrades, including conditioning the pool deck with anti-slip and restorer to clean and protect the pool deck and pool users. Repairs and grouting were applied to the pool deck and wave pool basin tiles that were either cracked or broken. Crews cut out old grout line expansion joints in the wave pool and installed new silicone.
As for lighting, the YMCA says new LED ceiling lights have been installed in all aquatics centre changing rooms, and new LED lighting has been upgraded in hallways.
