“Thank you to all of the family and spouses who supported our crews that kept things going at home while we were away,” CRVFD wrote on Facebook. “Thank you to the staff at the Fraser Valley Regional District who helped to keep up with all the administrative work. Thank you to all our partner agencies, was great to work alongside such professionals.”

CRVFD Chief Mike Danyluk expressed gratitude that all of his department’s volunteers are back home.

“They are all back, everyone’s home, and I’m thankful that the season is coming to an end,” Danyluk said in a text message Thursday morning.

The all-volunteer department was equally thankful to all its deployed members for their willingness to go the extra mile.

“Lastly, a huge shout out to all our dedicated members who were committed to answering the call, all summer long!” CRVFD wrote on social media. “They have all sacrificed so much. Leaving everything behind, at times mobilizing within an hour. Sleeping in the trucks, or a tent camping in a field or gravel pit. The passion of these volunteers is unmatched.”
