Tens of thousands of Sikhs expected Sunday for Nagar Kirtan parade in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD — Tens of thousands of Sikhs are expected for Sunday’s Nagar Kirtan procession in Abbotsford.

The City of Abbotsford wrote on its Facebook post that traffic and bus service in the area just north of the Highstreet shopping centre will be impacted.

A road closure alert is in effect this Sunday, September 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in west Abbotsford. Bus service will also be disrupted, the city wrote.

The procession will begin and end at 30640 Blueridge Drive in west Abbotsford. The religious event will celebrate the parkash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (holy Sikh scripture), according to a brief event factoid on the city of Abbotsford website.
