Chilliwack residents respond generously to help Salvation Army food bank

CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack residents have historically stepped up to help the Chilliwack Salvation Army Food Bank in a pinch.

Saturday was no exception.

The Chilliwack Salvation Army wrote on Facebook Monday (June 26) that its summer food drive over the weekend brought in thousands of dollars and 4,500 pounds of donated food for the Chilliwack food bank.

“Our Summer Food Drive on Saturday was a big success, with over $6,000 raised and 4500lbs of food brought in for the Chilliwack Food Bank!” Chilliwack Salvation Army wrote on Facebook. “A huge thank you to Chilliwack Fire Department, Chilliwack Professional Firefighters, [and] Chilliwack Search and Rescue for their help collecting donations at local grocery stores!”
