Chilliwack Minor Hockey Association recognizes 2023 scholarship winners

CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack Minor Hockey Association has named its five scholarship winners for 2023.

The winners include Erich Rommel ($1,500), Ben Dods ($1,000), Malachi Sache (awarded the highest scholarship of $2,500), Tanner Tutt ($1,500), and Darien Reitsma ($1,500).

“These remarkable individuals exemplify commitment both on the rink and in the classroom, demonstrating that they are much more than just hockey players,” Chilliwack Minor Hockey Association said in a statement on social media. “Through these scholarships, we aim to support the academic endeavors of our youth, fostering their growth in all aspects of life. These players have shown a fantastic blend of dedication, discipline, and skill. Congratulations to you all!”

Accompanying the scholarship winners in a social media post were Mark Dunn, second vice president, and Lee McCaw, president of Chilliwack Minor Hockey Association.
