CHILLIWACK — The search for Rosie, a Jindo mix pup from Korea who escaped on April 24 and was on the run for over two months, has ended with good news that she was located sometime Sunday in Chilliwack.

According to multiple social media posts, Rosie was located by Al Maclellan from a pet search company sometime on Sunday (June 25).

Maclellan is a widely touted expert from Petsearchers Canada who has over 30 years experience training hounds and humane live trapping.

Sue Farrant of Koastal Dog Rescue, which had originally brought Rosie to Canada from Korea, expressed joy knowing that the missing pup had been located.

“My heart is 100 times lighter!” Farrant said on Facebook. “Knowing Rosie is safe takes such a weight off my heart! I will collect her (Monday) and take her to the vet for deworming, flea and tick meds and antibiotics as a precaution. She is calm, sweet and letting herself be petted.”

Rosie’s former owner expressed similar gratitude over the pup being located.

“I am happy beyond words,” said Kelly Meeds, Rosie’s former Chilliwack owner. “It is absolutely bittersweet. I lost my father in November and then had to put my oldest dog down in March, leaving my 1.5-year-old German Shepard without a best friend. So, that’s when we decided to get Rose. The Koastal Dog Rescue has ownership of her now. But, I am absolutely relieved that she is safe. I can finally try and get my life figured out.”
