GW Graham selects new senior varsity football coach
CHILLIWACK — GW Graham athletic director Jake Mouritzen announced Monday (June 26) that Ryk Piche has been named as the new senior varsity football coach for the Grizzlies.
Piche replaces Luke Acheson, who guided the Grizzlies to multiple winning seasons and postseason appearances.
In a Facebook post from Amber McKay, Mouritzen was quoted as saying, “I am very excited and honoured to announce our program’s fourth senior varsity coach, Ryk Piche. Coach [Piche] brings years of football experience, a passion for the game, and a sense of caring for his student athletes that I know will assist us in taking one more step in solidifying our spot in Canadian high school football as one of the very best programs in the country. Please help me welcome head coach Piche to his new position.”
Acheson had stepped away from the program, and Piche submitted his name for consideration as the new varsity football coach.
