CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack Chiefs have reached a new deal that will see 89.5 JR Country in Chilliwack continue to broadcast several feature games during the upcoming 2023-24 season.

“We are thrilled to take on our second year of broadcasting Chilliwack Chiefs games to the community and fans. This is an important partnership for us and we look forward to building off of last year by adding more entertainment value to the game day broadcast,” said Mark Patric, general manager of JR Country.

Pattison Media is the parent company of 89.5 JR Country and Fraser Valley Today, both based in Chilliwack.

In a statement released Thursday afternoon (June 22), the Chiefs and 89.5 JR Country say the broadcast will continue to be anchored by Chiefs’ play-by-by announcer Vanni De Bartolo.

“The Chiefs are committed to keeping our fans connected to the team as much as possible and this deal is another way to achieve that. JR Country have been such great teammates on these broadcasts so we are pleased to continue for another season,” said Chiefs Vice-President of Business Operations and Team Governor, Barry Douglas.

The schedule will be released later this summer. All home and away broadcasts will still be available on bchltv.ca powered by HockeyTV. Home games not broadcasted on JR Country will also be available to listen to on Mixlr.com.
