ABBOTSFORD — Provincial child protection authorities have been notified after a B.C. motorist had a child blow into an ignition interlock system installed in the motorist’s vehicle.

According to a tweet from the Abbotsford Police Department, officers with the Abbotsford Police Department executed a proactive traffic stop Wednesday night during which time the driver admitted to police that they made their child blow into the ignition interlock system installed in the vehicle.

As a result of the admission, Abbotsford Police consequently impounded the car and served a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition to the driver.

The B.C. Ministry of Children and Family Development was also advised, the Abbotsford Police Department said in its tweet on Thursday morning, June 15 at 10 a.m.
