CHILLIWACK — There’s nothing like a small-town parade filled with colourful floats and vintage vehicles to bring out thousands of Chilliwack residents to the streets of Yarrow.

The 51st annual instalment of Yarrow Days Saturday resulted in packed crowds along the town’s main drag, Yarrow Central Road, as attendees enjoyed temperate weather of 19 degrees, sunny skies, and plenty of candy tossed from vehicles and assorted floats.

Muscle cars, vintage cars, and Sikh motorcycle riders comprised some of the over 50 participants in the parade that snaked through the streets of Yarrow.

When space became an issue along the sidewalks of Yarrow Central Road, a group of six individuals sat atop a home for the best seats in the house.

The festivities began bright and early Saturday morning with a pancake breakfast by donation at the Canadian Reformed Church, along with a Fun Run and walk that began at the Yarrow Community Centre, and a Show & Shine car event at Yarrow United Church.

The fun continues today with a party in the park at Pioneer Park featuring an entertainment stage, kids kids games, petting zoo, photo booth, concession, merch sales, vendor village, and more.
