Chilliwack RCMP holding family-friendly open house next week

CHILLIWACK — The Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment in Chilliwack is pulling out all the stops next weekend as it welcomes Chilliwack residents to come check out its services and police activities for a family-friendly open house.

“The Chilliwack RCMP is hosting a free family friendly Open House event and we’d love for you to come!” RCMP Sgt. Krista Vrolyk said. “We want to connect with the community and showcase some of the different police tools, techniques and resources we use to keep our community safe. This event will feature detachment tours, face painting, photo ops, and opportunities to see inside a police car. We look forward to connecting with the community we serve.”

The open house happens Saturday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 45924 Airport Road and will feature the following:

* Tours of the main detachment

* Hot dog BBQ provided by the Chilliwack Fire Department (by donation)

The majority of events will be held outside. Parking will be available in the front (Airport Rd.) and side (Kiernan Dr.) lots of the Main Detachment and along Kiernan Drive.
